AdjustingtheSkid(s)
Mounttheskidsinthelowerpositionwhenoperating
inheightofcutshigherthan2-1/2inches(64mm)and
inthehigherpositionwhenoperatinginheightofcuts
lowerthan2-1/2inches(64mm).
Note:OnGuardian
®
mowers,whentheskidsbecome
worn,youcanswitchtheskidtotheoppositesidesof
themower,ippingthemover.Thiswillallowyouto
usetheskidslongerbeforereplacingthem.
1.DisengagethePTOandsettheparkingbrake.
2.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition,stop
theengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Loosenthescrewatthefrontofeachskid.There
are2skidsonGuardianmowersand1skidon
side-dischargemowers(
Figure7).

6.Torquethescrewatthefrontofeachskidto80to
100in-lb(9to11N-m).
AdjustingtheRearAnti-ScalpRollers
Wheneveryouchangetheheight-of-cut,adjustthe
heightoftherearanti-scalprollers.
1.DisengagethePTO,releasethetractionpedal,and
settheparkingbrake.
2.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition,stop
theengine,removethekey,andwaitforallmoving
partstostopbeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Afteradjustingtheheight-of-cut,adjusttherollers
byremovingtheangenut,bushing,spacer,and
bolt(
Figure8).
