HydraulicPumpDriveshaft(page5–97)orRemovingtheTransmission
Driveshaft(page5–87).
15.Removethecotterpinandclevispinthatsecurethehoodcabletothemufer
mount.Supportthehoodinopenposition.
IMPORTANT
Topreventdamagetotheelectricalwireharness,numerouscable
tiesareusedtosecurethewireharnesstothemachinecomponents.
Recordthelocationofallcabletiesthatareremovedfromthe
machineduringtheengineremovalsothattheycanbeproperly
replacedduringtheengineinstallation.
16.Forassemblypurposes,notethelocationofthecabletiesusedtosecure
thewireharnesstothemachine.Disconnectthewiresand/orelectrical
connectionsfromthefollowingengineelectricalcomponents:
A.Alternatorconnectorandstud.
B.Oilpressureswitchlocatedneartheengineoillter.
C.Connector,fusiblelinkconnector,andpositivebatterycablefromthe
startermotor.
D.Hightemperatureshutdownswitchandtemperaturesenderlocatedon
thewaterpumphousing.
E.Fuelstopsolenoidontheinjectorpump.
F.Negativebatterycablefromtheinjectorpump.
G.Glowplugstrip.
H.PTOclutchwireconnector.
CAUTION
Theengineisveryheavy,andahoistnotratedfortheweightofthe
enginemayfail,causingpossibleinjuryanddamagetotheengine.
Usehoistequipmentratedtolifttheengine,whichisapproximately
93kg(205lb).
17.Attachasuitableliftorhoisttothelifttabsonthefrontandrearoftheengine.
Supporttheenginewithliftorhoisttopreventtheenginefromshiftingor
moving.
18.Removethefastenersthatsecuretheengine(withbrackets)totheengine
shockmountsandenginemountbrackets(Figure28).
CAUTION
Use1persontooperatetheliftorhoistwhiletheotherperson
guidestheenginefromthemachine.
