AligningtheTransmissionDriveshaft
Theenginecrankshaftandthetransmissioninputshaftmustbealignedwithin3
mm(0.125inch)ofeachother.
1.Verifythatthedriveshaftisstraightandthattheangesareperpendicularto
thetubeandarenotbent.
2.Attachthedriveshaftdirectlytotheenginehubtoallowvericationof
driveshaftalignment.
3.Loosensquare-headscrews(item7inFigure79)thatsecurepumphubto
transmissioninputshaft.Slidepumphubtowardengine,alignholesinpump
hubwithdriveshaftanges,andplaceboltsinholes.
4.Rotatedriveshafttocheckalignmentofthedriveshaftinallpositions.
Driveshaftandhubmustbealignedwithin3mm(0.125inch).

Note:Ifnecessary,loosentheliftarmcarrierbracketbeforeinstallingshims
betweenframeandaxlemountingpad.
6.Loosenfastenersthatsecurefrontaxletoframe.Installshimsbetweenframe
andaxlemountingpadstoadjustlocationoftransmissioninputshaft.
A.Ifthetransmissioninputshaftishighatthedrivecoupling,lowerinput
shaftbyinstallingshim(s)betweentherearwardaxlemountingpadsand
theframe(orbyremovingshim(s)thatmayexistatforwardmounting
pads).
B.Ifthetransmissioninputshaftislowatthedrivecoupling,raiseinputshaft
byinstallingshim(s)betweentheforwardaxlemountingpadsandthe
frame(orbyremovingshim(s)thatexistatrearwardaxlemountingpad).
