twopinsandsecurethemwiththehairpincotterpins
(Figure30).
Important:Alwaysusetheseatbeltwhentherollbar
isintheraisedandlockedposition.Donotusetheseat
beltwhentheROPSisintheloweredposition.
Starting/StoppingtheEngine
Important:Thefuelsystemmighthavetobebledifany
ofthefollowingsituationshaveoccurred:theinitialstart
upofanewmachine,theenginehasceasedrunningdue
tolackoffuel,ormaintenancehasbeenperformedupon
fuelsystemcomponents(i.e.,lterreplaced,separator
serviced,etc).
1.RaisetheROPSupandlockintoplace,sitontheseat
andfastentheseatbelt.
2.EnsurethattheparkingbrakeissetandthePTO
switchisintheOffposition.Removeyourfootfrom
tractionpedalandensurethatitisinneutral
3.MovethethrottlecontroltotheFastposition.
4.TurntheignitionswitchtotheOn/Preheatposition.
Anautomatictimerwillcontrolpreheatfor6seconds.
5.Afterpreheating,turnthekeytotheStartposition.
Cranktheenginefornolongerthan15seconds.
Releasethekeywhentheenginestarts.Ifadditional
preheatingisrequired,turnthekeytotheOffposition,
thentotheOn/Preheatposition.Repeatthisprocess
asrequired.
6.Movethethrottletoidlespeedorpartialthrottleand
runtheengineuntilitwarmsup.
Important:Whenengineisstartedfortherst
time,orafteranengineoilchange,oroverhaul
oftheengine,transmission,oraxle,operatethe
machineinforwardandreverseforonetotwo
minutes.AlsooperatetheliftleverandPTOlever
toensureproperoperationofallparts.Turnthe
powersteeringwheeltotheleftandrighttocheck
thesteeringresponse.Thenshuttheengineoff
andcheckuidlevels,checkforoilleaks,loose
parts,andanyothernoticeablemalfunctions.
CAUTION
Shutengineoffandwaitforallmovingparts
tostopbeforecheckingforoilleaks,loose
partsorothermalfunctions.
7.Tostopengine,movethethrottlecontrolbackwardto
theSlowposition,movethePTOswitchtotheOff
positionandrotateignitionkeytoOff.Removekey
fromtheswitchtopreventaccidentalstarting.
BleedingtheFuelSystem
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.Ensurethatthe
fueltankisatleasthalffull.
2.Unlatchandraisethehood.
DANGER
Undercertainconditions,dieselfuelandfuel
vaporsarehighlyammableandexplosive.A
reorexplosionfromfuelcanburnyouand
othersandcancausepropertydamage.
•Useafunnelandllthefueltankoutdoors,
inanopenarea,whentheengineisoffand
iscold.Wipeupanyfuelthatspills.
•Donotllthefueltankcompletelyfull.
Addfueltothefueltankuntilthelevelisto
thebottomofthellerneck.
•Neversmokewhenhandlingfuel,andstay
awayfromanopenameorwherefuel
fumesmaybeignitedbyaspark.
•Storefuelinaclean,safety-approved
containerandkeepthecapinplace.
3.Opentheairbleedscrewonthefuelinjectionpump
(Figure31).

4.TurnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOnposition.
Theelectricfuelpumpwillbeginoperation,thereby
forcingairoutaroundtheairbleedscrew.
5.LeavethekeyintheOnpositionuntilasolidstream
offuelowsoutaroundthescrew.
6.TightenthescrewandturnkeytotheOffposition.
Note:Normally,engineshouldstartafterabove
bleedingproceduresarefollowed.However,ifengine
doesnotstart,airmaybetrappedbetweeninjection
pumpandinjectors;refertoBleedingAirFromthe
Injectors.
