Checkifyourmachinehasthegrassdeectorspring
installedcorrectly.Thegrassdeectorneedstohave
downwardtension.
Anuncovereddischargeopeningcouldallow
thelawnmowertothrowobjectsinthe
operator’sorbystander’sdirectionandresultin
seriousinjuryordeath.Also,contactwiththe
bladecouldoccur.
Neveroperatethelawnmowerwiththegrass
deectorremovedunlessyouinstallacover
plate,amulchplate,oragrasschuteand
catcher.

2.PlacetheJhookendofspringaroundgrassdeector
(Figure5).
Important:Thegrassdeectormustbefreeto
rotatewithdownwardtension.Liftthedeector
uptothefullopenpositionandensurethatit
rotatesfreelywithoutbindingintothefulldown
position.
