CheckingtheHydraulicLines
ServiceInterval:Every100hours
Checkthehydrauliclinesandhosesforleaks,loosettings,
kinkedlines,loosemountingsupports,wear,weatherand
chemicaldeterioration.Makenecessaryrepairsbefore
operating.
Note:Keepareasaroundhydraulicsystemcleanfromgrass
anddebrisbuildup.
WARNING
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
penetrateskinandcauseinjury.
•Ifhydraulicuidisinjectedintotheskinit
mustbesurgicallyremovedwithinafewhours
byadoctorfamiliarwiththistypeofinjury.
Gangrenemayresultifthisisnotdone.
•Keepbodyandhandsawayfrompinholeleaks
ornozzlesthatejecthighpressurehydraulic
uid.
•Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulicleaks.
•Safelyrelieveallpressureinthehydraulicsystem
beforeperforminganyworkonthehydraulic
system.
•Makesureallhydraulicuidhosesandlinesare
ingoodconditionandallhydraulicconnections
andttingsaretightbeforeapplyingpressureto
hydraulicsystem.

ServicingtheCuttingBlades
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keepthebladessharp.
Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,youmaywant
tokeepextrabladesonhand.
WARNING
Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownintotheoperator's
orbystander'sarea,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.
BeforeInspectingorServicingthe
Blades
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengagetheblade
controlPTOandsettheparkingbrake.Turntheignitionkey
tooff.Removethekeyanddisconnectthesparkplugwire(s)
fromthesparkplug(s).
InspectingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
1.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure53).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removeandsharpenthe
blades.RefertoSharpeningtheBlades.
