Replacement
1. Remove both shoulder bolts (#19), wheel assem-
blies (#20), retaining rings (#17), and pinion gears
(#16) (Fig. 143).

2. Loosen but don’t remove (2) screws (#3) from left
side height-of-cut plates (Fig. 144).
3. Remove (2) screws (#3) from right side height-of-cut
plates.
4. Slide transmission toward the left side of the mower
and out of the right hand bearing retainer and pivot
arm (Fig. 145).

5. Once the transmission is out of the right side bearing
retainer and pivot arm, slide the transmission
toward the right side and out of the left hand bearing
retainer and pivot arm (Fig. 146).
6. Replace transmission.
7. Follow the procedure in reverse order to
reassemble. Seeoperator’smanualforbladebolt
torquespecication.
