WARNING
Themachinecanrolluncontrolledifthetraction
controlsareintheNeutralposition.
Stopthemachineandsettheparkingbrakebefore
shiftingthetransmissioncontrol.
•Firstgear:WiththedrivemodeswitchintheWork
position,pressthetransmissionrangeswitchtotheright
(nearyou)toselectthetransmissionintoLowrange.
•Secondgear:WiththedrivemodeswitchintheWork
position,pressthetransmissionrangeswitchtotheleft
(awayfromyou)toselectthetransmissionintoHigh
range.
•Thirdgear:WiththedrivemodeswitchintheTransport
position,pressthetransmissionrangeswitchtotheright
(nearyou)toselectthetransmissionintoLowrange.
•Fourthgear:Withthedrivemodeswitchinthe
Transportposition,pressthetransmissionrangeswitch
totheleft(awayfromyou)toselectthetransmissioninto
Highrange.

PreparingtoOperatethe

Afterstartingtheenginebutbeforeoperatingthemachineat
theworksite,dothefollowing:
•EnsurethattheROPSandtheseatbeltareproperly
installedandingoodworkingorder.
•Ensurethatallinstruments,thecontrols-in-neutrallight,
andtheallwarninglightsareworkingproperly.
•Ensurethatallcontrolsareworkingproperlyinaclear,
openarea.
Note:Thecontrols-in-neutrallightwillturnonwhenthe
keyswitchisintheOnpositionandtheutility-tractionlever
isintheNeutralposition.
1.Warmuptheengine.
2.PullthethrottleouttotheFullposition.
3.Raisetheequipmentandanyattachments(trencher,
plow,etc.).
4.Releasetheparkingbrake.
Note:Youmustremainseatedintheoperatorseat
beforeyoumovetheengine;otherwise,theenginewill
stopin1second.
Note:Theutility-tractionlevercontrolsthespeedof
themachine.Thefartherthatyoumovetheleverfrom
theNeutralposition,thefasterthemachinemoves.
Important:Controlthespeedofthemachine
travelwiththeutility-tractionlever,notthethrottle.
5.Checktheindicatorlightsfrequently.
UsingtheBackllBlade
Important:Operatethecontrolsonlywhilesittingin
theoperatorseat.
Usethebackllbladetoreturnthespoilsintothetrench.
