CleaningundertheMachine
Toensurethebestperformance,keeptheundersideofthe
machineclean.Beespeciallycarefultokeepthekickersfree
ofdebris(Figure30).

handle)whiletheengineisrunning.
Donotallowbystandersinthearea.
1.Positionthemachineonaatconcreteorasphalt
surfacenearagardenhose.
2.Starttheengine.
3.Holdtherunninggardenhoseathandlelevelanddirect
thewatertoowonthegroundjustinfrontofthe
right,rearwheel(Figure31).

4.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop.
5.Turnoffthewater.
6.Startthemachineandletitrunforafewminutesto
dryouttheundersideofthemachine.
ScrapingMethod
Ifwashingdoesnotremovealldebrisfromunderthe
machine,scrapeitclean.
1.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplug.
2.Drainthegasolinefromthefueltank.
WARNING
Tippingthemachinemaycausethegasoline
toleakfromthecarburetororthefueltank.
Gasolineisextremelyammable,highly
explosive,and,undercertainconditions,can
causepersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
Avoidfuelspillsbyrunningtheenginedryor
byremovingthegasolinewithahandpump;
neversiphon.
3.Tipthemachineontoitsrightside(aircleanerup).
4.Removethedirtandgrassclippingswithahardwood
scraper.Avoidburrsandsharpedges.
5.Returnthemachinetotheoperatingposition.
6.Connectthewiretothesparkplug.
