Alwaysshutoffthemachine,waitforallmoving
partstostop,andallowthemachinetocoolbefore
adjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
PreparingtheFuelSystem
Emptythefuelfromthefueltankwhenmowingforthe
lasttimebeforestoringthemachine.
1.Runtheengineuntilitshutsofffromrunning
outoffuel.
2.Choketheengineandstartitagain.
3.Allowtheenginetorununtilitshutsoff.
Whenyoucannolongerstarttheengine,itis
sufcientlydry.
PreparingtheEngine
1.Whiletheengineisstillwarm,changetheoilin
thecrankcase;refertoChangingtheEngineOil
(page21).
2.Removethesparkplug.
3.Usinganoilcan,addabout30ml(1oz)of
engineoiltotheenginecrankcasethroughthe
spark-plughole.
4.Slowlyrotatetheengineseveraltimesby
pullingtherecoil-starthandletodistributetheoil
throughouttheenginecrankcase.
5.Installthesparkplugbutdonotconnectthe
wiretothesparkplug.

3.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefrom
