3.Removechaff,dirt,andgrimefromtheexternalparts
oftheengine,theshrouding,andthetopofthe
machine.
4.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto

5.Servicetheairlter;referto
ServicingtheAirFilter(page17).
6.Tightenallnuts,bolts,andscrews.
7.Touchupallrustedorchippedpaintsurfaceswith
paintavailablefromanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
8.Chargethebatteryfor24hours,thenunplugthe
batterychargerandstorethemachineinanunheated
area.Ifyoumuststorethemachineinaheatedarea,
youmustchargethebatteryevery90days(electric-start
modelonly).
9.Foldthehandleforstorage;referto
AdjustingtheHandleHeight(page10).
PreparingtheFuelSystem
WARNING
Gasolinecanvaporizeifyoustoreitoverlong
periodsoftimeandexplodeifitcomesintocontact
withanopename.
Donotstoregasolineoverlongperiodsoftime.
Donotstorethemachinewithgasolineinthe
fueltankorthecarburetorinanenclosurewith
anopename.(Forexample,afurnaceora
waterheaterpilotlight.)
Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringitinany
enclosure.
Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuelstabilizertothefuel
asdirectedbytheenginemanufacturer.Emptythefueltank
whenmowingthelasttimebeforestoringthemachine.
