Disposing of the Battery
Electric Start Models Only
IMPORTANT: Do not dispose of used batteries in
your r egular trash.
IMPORTANT: Recycle or dispose of a sealed lead
(acid) battery according to local codes.
Incinerating, landfilling, or mixing sealed lead (acid)
batteries with the municipal solid waste stream is
pr ohibited by law in most areas.
Return this battery to a federal- or state-approved, sealed
lead (acid) battery recycler .
Contact your local waste management of ficials for more
information regarding the environmentally sound
collection, recycling, and disposal of the battery .
Replacing the Fuse
Electric Start Models only
A fuse protects the electrical system char ging circuit. If
the battery does not stay char ged, the fuse may be blown.
Use a 5-amp plug-in type fuse.
1. Remove and discard the blown fuse.
2. Install the new fuse as shown in Figure 31.

Your lawn mower was designed and built for trouble-free operation. Check the following components and items carefully .
If a problem continues, see your Authorized Service Dealer .

3. Clean the underside of the lawn mower deck
4. Clean the spark plug, check the spark plug gap, and replace the
spark plug if it damaged
5. Check the engine oil
