Installing the Starter Rope
Pull the starter rope through the rope guide on the handle
(Fig. 4).

Installing the Discharge Tunnel
Plug
1. Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2. Open the discharge door by moving it rearward (Fig. 5).

3. Hold the discharge door handle to prevent the
spring-loaded door from closing while you insert the
discharge tunnel plug.
4. Rotate the plug clockwise slightly while inserting it
(Fig. 5).
Note: Ensure that the arrow on the plug decal points
upward.
5. Push the plug all the way in until the spring clip on the
bottom of the plug clicks into place (Fig. 6).

6. Release the discharge door handle to lock the top of the
plug.
Installing the Fuse
Electric-start Model only
The fuse protects the electric start system. If the battery
does not charge or the engine does not turn with the electric
starter, the fuse may be blown. Use a 40-amp plug-in type
fuse.
1. Remove the battery box cover (Fig. 7).
