Required: See "REMOVAL"
Install new gaskets and the heat shield
(removed in previous procedure) on the
carburetor. The air cleaner element and its
cover should not be in place at this time.
Guide the air vane through the opening in
the shroud base and attach the carburetor
to the engine with the
two
mounting screws.
Torque to
45-55
in Ibs
(5.1
-6.2
N-m).
Replace the spit cup, if used. To prevent
any air leaks make sure the spitcup
(
or
two
plugs) is
(are)
seated properly.
Insert the
Z
bend of the throttle cable into
the vertical tab of the speed control lever.
Set the throttle to fast and the speed control
lever
so
the throttle plate is sprung open to
the full open position.
Install the fuel line and primer tube on the
appropriate carburetor fittings.
Check that the choke/air vane assembly
moves freely.
Install the air filter and cover.
Presetting the Governor
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Tachometer
NOTE: Each "click" of the governor collar
represents approximately
50
RPMs.

Turn the collar clockwise to increase spring
tension, and engine RPMs, or counter
clockwise to decrease them. Preset the
governor collar

4
clicks clockwise.
