3. Tip mower on its side, air lter up. DO NOT tip the
mower with the air lter side down (Fig. 151).

Replacement
1. Remove both shoulder bolts (#8), wheel assemblies
(#9), retaining rings (#18), and pinion gears(#20)
(Fig. 153).
3. Remove height-of-cut plates with transmission.
4. Slide pivot arm assemblies (#5) off of the trans-
mission shafts (Fig. 153).
5. Replace transmission.
6. Follow the procedure in reverse order to
reassemble. Seeoperator’smanualforbladebolt
torquespecication.

5. Remove the old belt and install a new belt. To
replace the transmission see “22” Steel Deck - Front
Axle Transmission Replacement” in this chapter.
If not replacing the transmission, reassemble in
reverse order. Seeoperator’smanualforblade
bolttorquespecication.

4. Remove blade bolt (B), blade support (C), blade (D)
