Note:Max.ll:0.59L(20oz),type:SAE30detergent
oilwithanAPIserviceclassicationofSF,SG,SH,SJ,SL,
orhigher.
1.Movethemachinetoalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstick(
Figure9).

3.Wipethedipstickcleanwithacleancloth.
4.Insertthedipstickintotheoil-lltube,thenremove
thedipstick.
5.Readtheoillevelonthedipstick(Figure9).
•IftheoillevelisbelowtheAddmarkonthe
dipstick,slowlypourasmallamountofoilinto
theoil-lltube,wait3minutes,andrepeatsteps

through5untiltheoillevelisattheFullmarkon
thedipstick.
•IftheoillevelisabovetheFullmarkonthe
dipstick,draintheexcessoiluntiltheoillevelisat
theFullmarkonthedipstick;refertoChanging
theEngineOil(page14).
Important:Iftheoillevelinthecrankcaseistoo
lowortoohighandyouruntheengine,youmay
damagetheengine.
6.Installthedipsticksecurely.
AdjustingtheCuttingHeight
WARNING
Adjustingthecuttingheightmaybringyouinto
contactwiththemovingblade,causingserious
injury.
•Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
•Donotputyourngersunderthehousingwhen
adjustingthecuttingheight.
CAUTION
Iftheenginehasbeenrunning,themuferwillbe
hotandcanseverelyburnyou.Keepawayfromthe
hotmufer.
Adjustthecuttingheightasdesired.Setthefrontwheelsto
thesameheightastherearwheels(Figure10).
Note:Toraisethemachine,moveallthecutting-heightlevers
forward;tolowerthemachine,moveallthecutting-height
leversrearward.
