Install the governor lever on the governor shaft, leave
the lever loose at this time. See Figure 92.

Install the carburetorthrottle arm on the
ā€œZā€
bend of the
governor link rod. The
ā€œZ
bend
is
installed from the top
through the bushing in the arm on the top of thethrottle
shaft.
2.
Install the carburetor gasket/insulator and carburetor
on the block of the engine. Torque the screws to
60
in
Ibs
(6.8
N-m).

3. Hook the governor link spring on the throttle bracket
assembly. See Figure 94.

Install the choke over center spring. See Figure 95.

Adjustment
1.
To adjust the governor the following sequence of
component installation must be followed:
a. Install the link rod on the governor arm and
b. Install the governor lever on the governor shaft
-
carburetor.
leave
it
loose.
c. Install the carburetor on the engine.
d.
Attach the link rod spring.
position.
3.
Rotate the governor shaft fully counterclockwise and
tighten the governor lever locking nut to
35
in Ibs
(4
N-m).
2. Rotate the carburetor throttle shaft to the
full
throttle
Electric Starter

Installation
1.
Install the electric starter (if equipped) with
two
3/8ā€
hex washer head screws. Torque the screws to
85
in
Ibs (9.5
N-m).
