Effectivestripingisinuencedby
grassconditionandgrasstype
Limpgrasswherewheeltracksareveryvisibleis
usuallygoodforstriping.
Stiffgrasswherewheeltracksarelessvisiblewill
usuallyproducepoorstriping.
Coolseasongrasstypesfoundinnorthernareasare
usuallygoodforstriping.
Warmseasongrasstypesfoundinsouthernareas
willusuallyproducelesspronouncedstriping.
Transitionzonegrassesfoundinthenarrowbelt
regioncanproducegoodstripinginsomeareas
andsomeportionsofthegrowingseason,while
producingpoorstripinginotherareasorportions
oftheseason.
Somegrasstypesproducebetterstripingcontrast
whenmowingshort.Othergrasstypesor
moisturecontentofthegrasscanprovidebetter
contrastwhenmowingatalong/tallheightofcut.
Experimentwithwhatworksbestinyoursituation.
Stripingvisibilityisaffectedbythesun
position
Thisishowthelightisreectedonthegrass.
Mowingpatternswhichgenerallyruneast–westwill
haveagreatercontrastthannorth–southpatterns.
Thestripingpatterncontrastislessvisiblearound
noon,andismorevisibleinmorningsand
afternoons.
Stripingvisibilityisaffectedbyyour
position
Thegrasswhichisbenttowardsyouwillappeardarker,
andgrasswhichisbentawayfromyouwillappear
lighter.
Mowingpatternswhichgenerallyrunalongaroad
willhavegreatercontrastwhenviewedapproaching
orleavingtheproperty.Thecontrastofstriping
willbelessvisiblewhenlookingacrossthemowing
direction.
Ifthepropertyhasafocalpoint,oraviewing
location,itcanbebenecialtomowinapattern
thatisgenerallytoandfromtheobservationpoint.
Lawnconditionaffectsstriping
visibility
Largeatareasusuallyprovidebetterstriping
contrastthanonslopesorareaswithalotof
trimmingandedging.
