Air Cleaner Relocation Kit

Heavy Duty Workman



Installation Instructions

Note: This kit is for use on Workman Vehicles with serial

numbers 220000001 thru 239999999.

1. Raise the bed and install the safety support rod onto

the extended cylinder.

2. Stop the engine, set the parking brake and remove the

key from the ignition.

3. Loosen the (2) clamps securing the air cleaner hose to

the air cleaner and engine (Fig. 1). Remove and retain

hose and clamps.

4. Remove the (2) capscrews and nuts securing the air

cleaner mounting band to the vehicle frame (Fig. 1).

5. Loosely mount the U–bolt clamp and air cleaner

mounting bracket to the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU)

frame tube with (2) clamp nuts. Position the

components on frame tube as shown in figure 2.

Note: Position upper radiator hose above air cleaner

mounting bracket.

6. Remove the (2) hose clamps securing the inlet hood

and inlet hose to the air cleaner body (Fig. 1). Retain

hood but discard hose and clamps.

7. Install the new filter element into the filter body.

8. Insert the R–clamp onto the upper radiator hose

aligning the clamp holes with the outer hole in the

mounting bracket (Fig. 3).

9. Loosely secure the air cleaner/mounting band and R–clamp w/radiator hose to the mounting bracket with (2) capscrews and nuts (Fig. 3). 10. Using the dimensions shown in figure 4, measure and cut the air cleaner hose to the required length for either gas or diesel engines. 22.50” (57.15 cm) for gas engines 20.75” (52.70 cm) for diesel engines Figure 4 11.
