inch)ofoveralldeection,or6mm(1/4inch)in
eachdirection.Ifthechaintensionismorethanor
lessthan13mm(1/2inch)ofoveralldeection,
adjustthetension;refertoAdjustingtheDrive
Chain(page33).
•Checkthedrivechainforrustandfreedomof
movement.Ifthechainisrustyandstiff,lubricate
it;refertoLubricatingtheDriveChain(page34).
AdjustingtheDriveChain
Chaintensioncanbeadjustedbyslightlyloosening
themainjamnutandtighteningthejamrodtodesired
position(Figure47orFigure48).Donotadjustthe
chaintensionwhenthechainishotorwarm.
