Shutofftheenginebeforecheckingtheoilor
addingoiltothecrankcase.
Donotchangethegovernorspeedoroverspeed
theengine.
ChangingtheEngineOil
andFilter
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst20hours(more
ofteninextremelydirtyordusty
conditions).
Every100hours(moreofteninextremelydirty
ordustyconditions).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Removethedrainplug(Figure28)andlettheoil
owintoadrainpan.Whentheoilstops,install
thedrainplug.

3.Removetheoillter(Figure28).
4.Applyalightcoatofcleanoiltothenewlter
gasket.
5.Screwthelteronbyhanduntilthegasket
contactsthelteradapter;thentighten1/2to
3/4turnfurther.
Important:Donotovertightenthelter.
6.Addoiltothecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page16).
7.Disposeoftheusedoilproperly.
ServicingtheAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Every200hours
Checkthebodyoftheaircleanerfordamagethat
couldcauseanairleak.Replaceanydamaged
components.Checkthewholeintakesystemfor
leaks,damage,orloosehoseclamps.
Donotchangetheairlterbeforeitisnecessary;
doingsoonlyincreasesthechanceofdirtentering
theenginewhenyouremovethelter.
Besurethatthecoverisseatedcorrectlyand
sealswiththebodyoftheaircleaner.
