RemovingtheSteeringWheel,InstrumentPanelsandDashCover
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,shutoffthe
engineandremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebattery;refertoRemovingtheBattery(page6–81).
3.Removethesteeringwheel.Ifnecessary,useasuitablepullertoremovethe
steeringwheelfromthesteeringcolumn.
Note:Themaininstrumentpanelcanbepassedthroughthedashcover
openingwithoutdisconnectingallthecontrolsfromthewireharness.
4.Removethemaininstrumentpanel.Ifnecessary,labelallthewireharness
connectionsforassemblypurposesanddisconnectthewireharnessfrom
thepanelcontrols.
5.Removethewindshieldfrommachineswithacab.
6.Removethesteeringinstrumentpanel.Labelallthewireharness
connectionsforassemblypurposesanddisconnectthewireharnessfrom
thepanelcontrols.
7.Removethesteeringcolumncover.
8.Removetheconsoleinstrumentpanelfastenersandmovethepaneltoallow
accesstothe2dashcovertoconsolefasteners.
9.Removethedashcover.
InstallingtheSteeringWheel,InstrumentPanelsandDashCover
1.Installthedashcover.
2.Installthe2dashcovertoconsolefasteners,theninstalltheconsole
instrumentpanel.
3.Installthesteeringcolumncover.
4.Installthesteeringinstrumentpanel.
5.Installthewindshieldfrommachineswithacab.
6.Installthemaininstrumentpanel.
7.Applyathincoatingofanti-seizelubricanttothesteeringcolumnsplinesand
installthesteeringwheel,washerandlocknut.Tightenthelocknutfrom28
to35N∙m(20to26ft-lb).
8.Connectthebattery;refertoInstallingtheBattery(page6–81).
9.Verifyinstrumentpanelcontrolsfunctionbeforereturningthemachineto
service.
