Theseatswitchanditselectricalconnectorarelocatedintheoperatorseat
assembly.Theseatswitchisanormallyopenproximityswitchthatcloseswhen
theoperatorisontheseat.Testingoftheswitchcanbedonewithoutseat
removalbydisconnectingtheswitchwirefromtheplatformwireharness.
TheT1:TECmonitorsthepositionoftheseatswitch.Usingseatswitchposition
(openorclosed)andavarietyofotherinputs,theT1:TECmanagesavariety
ofmachinefunctions.
TestingtheSeatSwitch
TheseatswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedasaT1:TECinputusingthe
InfoCenterDisplay;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting
(page3–23).Iftestingdeterminesthattheswitchesandcircuitwiringarenot
functioningcorrectly,proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachmentsandstopthe
engine.
2.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitch.
3.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheconnectorterminals.
4.Withnopressureontheseat,thereshouldbenocontinuitybetweenthe
seatswitchterminals.
5.Pressdirectlyontotheseatswitchthroughtheseatcushion.Thereshould
becontinuityastheseatcushionapproachesthebottomofitstravel.
6.Replacetheswitchifnecessary;refertoServicingtheOperatorSeat(page
8–19).
7.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Connectthewireharnessaftertesting.
