StorageSafety
Shutoffthemachine,removethekey,andwait
forallmovementtostopbeforeyouleavethe
operator’sposition.Allowthemachinetocool
beforeadjusting,servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
StoringtheMachine
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,shutoffthemachine,andremove
thekey.
2.Cleandirtandgrimefromtheentiremachine,
includingtheoutsideofthemotorhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donotuse
high-pressurewatertowashthemachine.
Pressure-washingmaydamagetheelectrical
systemorwashawaynecessarygreaseat
frictionpoints.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,
especiallynearthecontrolpanel,lights,
motor,andbattery.
3.Inspectthebrakes;refertoInspectingthe
Brakes(page44).
4.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingthe
Machine(page33).
5.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page16).
6.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamaged.
7.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.

8.Store/parkthemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea,awayfromdirectsunlight,heat
sources,rain,andwetconditions.Referto
thetablebelowfortemperaturerequirements
forstorage.
Whenstoringthemachineformorethan10
days,ensurethatthemachineisinacool
anddrylocation,outofsunlight,rain,andwet
conditions,andatleast50%charged.
Important:Temperaturesoutsideofthis
rangewilldamageyourbatteries.
Thetemperaturethatthebatteriesarestored
atwillaffecttheirlong-termlife.Storagefor
longperiodsoftimeathightemperatureswill
reducethebatterylife.Storethemachinein
acool(notbelowfreezing)location.

9.Followtheseguidelinesforprolongedstorageof
thebatteries:
Forstorageof1to6months,chargeor
dischargethebatteriesto50%.
A50%chargeisideal,asa100%charge
degradesthebatteriesmorequickly.
Forstorageof6monthsormore,charge
thebatteriesto100%.
Afterchargingthebatteries,disconnectthe
batterychargerfrompower.Disconnectthe
mainconnectorduringstoragetominimize
thedischargingofthebatteries.
Ifyouleavethechargeronthemachine,itwill
shutoffafterthebatteriesarefullycharged
anddoesnotturnbackonunlessthecharger
isdisconnectedandreconnected.
Forstorageof12monthsormore,ensure
thatyoucheckthestateofthechargeevery
6months.Ifthechargeisunder50%,you
mustchargethebatteries.
