GeneralSafety
•Beforeyouleavetheoperatingposition,dothe
following:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–MovethedirectionselectortotheNEUTRAL
position.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutoffthemachineandremovethekey.
–Waitforallmovementtostop.
•Allowthemachinetocoolbeforeadjusting,
servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
•Donotstorethemachinewherethereisanopen
ame,spark,orpilotlight,suchasonawater
heaterorotherappliance.
•Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
•Maintainandcleantheseatbelt(s)asnecessary.
•Replaceallworn,damaged,ormissingdecals.
BatteryandChargerSafety
General
•Useonlythesuppliedpowercordforbattery
charging.
•Conrmthevoltagethatisavailableinyour
countrybeforeusingthecharger.
•ForconnectiontoasupplynotintheUS,
useanattachmentplugadapteroftheproper
congurationforthepoweroutlet,ifneeded.
•Donotchargethemachineinrainorwet
conditions.
•Ariskofre,electricshock,orinjurymayresult
fromusinganaccessorynotrecommendedor
soldbyT oro.
•Toreduceriskofabatteryexplosion,followthese
instructionsandtheinstructionsforanyequipment
thatyouintendtousenearthecharger.
•Donotopenbatteries.
•Intheeventthatabatteryleaks,avoidcontactwith
theliquid.Ifyouaccidentallycomeintocontact
withtheliquid,ushwithwaterandseekmedical
help.Liquidejectedfromthebatterymaycause
irritationorburns.
•RefertoanauthorizedTorodistributortoservice
orreplaceabattery.
Training
•Neverallowchildrenoruntrainedpeopleto
operateorchargethemachine.Localregulations
mayrestricttheageoftheoperator.Theowner
isresponsiblefortrainingalloperatorsand
mechanics.
•Read,understand,andfollowallinstructionson
chargingthemachine.
Preparation
•Keepbystandersandchildrenawaywhile
charging.
•Wearappropriateclothingwhilecharging,
includingeyeprotection;longpants;and
substantial,slip-resistantfootwear.
•Shutoffthemachineandwait5secondsuntilthe
machinehascompletelypowereddownbefore
charging.Failuretodothismaycausearcing.
•Ensurethattheareaiswellventilatedwhile
charging.
•Readandfollowallprecautionsforcharging.
•Thechargerisforuseonlyonnominal100to240
VACcircuits,andisequippedwithagrounding
plugfor120VACoperation.Forusewith240V
circuits,contactyourauthorizedT orodistributorfor
thecorrectpowercord.
•UseonlyapowercordapprovedbyToro.
Operation
•Donotabusethepowersupplycordoryankon
ittodisconnectthechargerfromthereceptacle.
Keepthecordfromheat,oil,andsharpedges.
•Connectthechargerdirectlytoagrounding
receptacle.Donotchargeonanungrounded
outlet,evenwithanadaptor.
•Donotaltertheprovidedpowercordorplug.
•Avoiddroppingametaltoolnearorontoabattery;
itmightcauseasparkorshort-circuitanelectrical
partthatcouldleadtoanexplosion.
•Removemetalitemssuchasrings,bracelets,
necklaces,andwatcheswhenworkingwitha
lithium-ionbattery.Alithium-ionbatterycan
produceenoughcurrenttocauseasevereburn.
•Useanappropriateextensioncord.
•Ifthepowersupplycordisdamagedwhileit
ispluggedin,disconnectthecordfromthe
wallreceptacleandcontactanauthorizedToro
distributorforareplacement.
•Unplugthechargerfromtheelectricaloutletwhen
notinuse,beforemovingittoanotherlocation,or
priortoservicingit.
