•Shutofftheengine,removethekey,andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostopbeforecheckingtheoilor
addingoiltothecrankcase.
•Keepyourhands,feet,face,clothing,andother
bodypartsawayfromthemuferandotherhot
surfaces.
ServicingtheAirCleaner
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Removethe
air-cleanercoverandcleanoutthe
debris.
Every100hours—Changetheair-cleanerlter
(morefrequentlyindustyordirtyconditions).
Inspecttheaircleanerandhosesperiodicallyto
maintainmaximumengineprotectionandtoensure
maximumservicelife.Checktheair-cleanerbody
fordamagethatcouldpossiblycauseanairleak.
Replaceadamagedair-cleanerbody.
1.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerandpull
theair-cleanercoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure33).

spots.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoily
lm,ordamagetotherubberseal.Ifthelteris
damaged,donotuseit.
Note:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewiththeairlterandcover
installed.
5.Carefullyslidethelteroverthebodytube
(Figure33).
Note:Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushing
ontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
6.Installtheair-cleanercoverwiththesidefacing
up,andsecurethelatches(Figure33).
