1.Cleantheareaaroundthehigh-ow-lter
mountingarea(Figure73).
2.Placeadrainpanunderthelterandremove
thelter.
Note:Iftheuidisnotgoingtobedrained,
disconnectandplugthehydrauliclinegoingto
thelter.
3.Lubricatethenewlter-sealinggasketandhand
turnthelterontothelterheaduntilthegasket
contactsthelterhead.Thentightenit3/4turn
further.Theltershouldnowbesealed.
4.Fillthehydraulicreservoirwithapproximately15
L(4USgallons)ofhydraulicuid.
5.Startthemachineandrunitatidleforabout2
minutestocirculatetheuidandremoveanyair
trappedinthesystem.
6.Stopthemachineandchecktheuidlevel.
7.Verifytheuidlevel.
8.Disposeoftheuidproperly.
RaisingtheCargoBoxin
anEmergency
Thecargoboxcanberaisedinanemergencywithout
startingtheenginebycrankingstarterorbyjumping
hydraulicsystem.
RaisingtheCargoBoxusingthe
Starter
Crankthestarterwhileholdingtheliftleverinthe
Raiseposition.Runthestarterfor10seconds,then
wait60secondsbeforeengagingthestarteragain.
Iftheenginewillnotcrank,youmustremovethe
loadandbox(attachment)toservicetheengineor
transaxle.
RaisingtheCargoBoxbyJumping
theHydraulicSystem
CAUTION
Araisedbedfullofmaterialwithouttheproper
safetysupportrodmaylowerunexpectedly.
Workingunderanunsupportedraisedbed
maycauseinjurytoyouorothers.
•Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentsto
themachine,shutofftheengine,setthe
parkingbrake,andremovethekeyfrom
theignitionswitch.
•Removeanyloadmaterialfromthebed
orotherattachmentandinsertthesafety
supportonafullyextendedcylinderrod
beforeworkingunderaraisedbed.
Youwillneed2hydraulichoses,eachwitha
maleandfemalequickcoupler,thattthevehicle
couplers,toperformthisoperation.
1.Backanothermachineuptotherearofthe
disabledmachine.
Important:Themachinehydraulicsystem
usesDexronIIIATF.Toavoidsystem
contamination,makesurethevehicleused
tojumpthehydraulicsystemusesan
equivalentuid.
2.Onbothmachine,disconnectthe2quick-coupler
hosesfromthehosessecuredtothecoupler
bracket(Figure74).
