OperatingonRoughTerrain
Reducethegroundspeedofthemachineandload
carriedinthemachinewhenoperatingonrough
terrain,unevenground,andnearcurbs,holes,and
othersuddenchangesinterrain.Loadsmayshift,
causingthemachinetobecomeunstable.
Ifyouwillbeusingthemachineonroughterrain,you
caninstalltheoptionalROPSKit.
WARNING
Suddenchangesinterrainmaycauseabrupt
steeringwheelmovement,possiblyresulting
inhandandarminjuries.
Reduceyourspeedwhenoperatingon
roughterrainandnearcurbs.
Gripthesteeringwheellooselyaroundthe
perimeterkeepingthumbsupandoutof
thewayofthesteeringwheelspokes.
LoadingandDumping
Theweightandpositionofcargoandpassengercan
affectthestabilityandhandlingofthemachine.Be
awareofthefollowingconditiontoavoidlosingcontrol
ofthemachineortippingitover:
Donotexceedtheratedweightcapacityofthe
machinewhenoperatingitwithaloadinthe
cargobox,whentowingatrailer,orboth;referto
Specications(page20).
Usecautionwhenoperatingthemachineona
hillsideoronroughterrain,particularlywithaload
inthecargoboxorwhentowingatrailerorboth.
Usecautionwhencarryingtallloadsinthecargo
box.
Beawarethatthestabilityandcontrolofthe
machinearereducedwhentheloadinthecargo
boxispoorlydistributed.
Carryingoversizedloadsinthecargoboxchanges
thestabilityofthemachine.
Thesteering,braking,andstabilityofthemachine
areaffectedwhencarryingaloadwheretheweight
ofthematerialcannotbeboundtothemachine
suchastheliquidinalargetank.
WARNING
Theweightoftheboxmaybeheavy.Hands
orotherbodypartscouldbecrushed.
Keephandsandotherbodypartsclear
whenloweringthebox.
Donotdumpmaterialsonbystanders.
Neverdumpaloadedcargoboxwhilethemachine
issidewaysonahill.Thechangeinweight
distributionmaycausethemachinetooverturn.
Whenoperatingwithaheavyloadinthecargo
box,reduceyourspeedandallowforsufcient
brakingdistance.Donotsuddenlyapplythe
brakes.Useextracautiononslopes.
Beawarethatheavyloadsincreaseyourstopping
distanceandreduceyourabilitytoturnquickly
withouttippingover.
Therearcargospaceisintendedforloadcarrying
purposesonly,notforpassengers.
Neveroverloadyourmachine.Thenameplate
(locatedunderthemiddleofthedash)shows
theloadlimitsforthemachine.Neveroverll
attachmentsorexceedthemachinemaximum
grossvehicleweight(GVW).
Maintenance
WARNING
Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan
havesufcientforcetopenetrateskinanddo
seriousdamage.Ifuidisinjectedintothe
skinitmustbesurgicallyremovedwithina
fewhoursbyadoctorfamiliarwiththisform
ofinjuryorgangrenemayresult.
Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompinhole
leaksornozzlesthatejecthydraulicuid
underhighpressure.Usepaperorcardboard,
nothands,tosearchforleaks.
Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentstothe
machine,stoptheengine,settheparkingbrake,
andremovethekeyfromtheignitiontoprevent
accidentalstartingoftheengine.
Neverworkunderaraisedbedwithoutplacingthe
bedsafetysupportonthefullyextendedcylinder
rod.
Makesurethatallhydraulic-lineconnectorsare
tight,andthatallhydraulichosesandlinesarein
goodconditionbeforeapplyingpressuretothe
system.
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkon
thehydraulicsystem,allpressureinthesystem
mustberelievedbystoppingtheengine,cycling
thedumpvalvefromraisetolowerand/orlowering
boxandattachments.Placetheremotehydraulics
leverintheoatposition.Iftheboxmustbein
raisedposition,secureitwiththesafetysupport.
Tomakesurethattheentiremachineisingood
condition,keepallnuts,bolts,andscrewsproperly
tightened.
Toreducethepotentialrehazard,keepthe
engineareafreeofexcessivegrease,grass,
leaves,andaccumulationofdirt.
