HydraulicSystemSafety
Seekimmediatemedicalattentionifuidisinjected
intoskin.Injecteduidmustbesurgicallyremoved
withinafewhoursbyadoctor.
Beforedisconnectingorperforminganyworkon
thehydraulicsystem,relieveallpressureinthe
systembyshuttingofftheengine,cyclingthe
dumpvalvefromraisetolower,and/orlowering
thecargobedandattachments.Placetheremote
hydraulicsleverintheoatposition.Donotwork
underaraisedbedwithouttheproperbedsafety
supportinplace.
Ensurethatallhydraulic-uidhosesandlinesare
ingoodconditionandthatallhydraulicconnections
andttingsaretightbeforeapplyingpressureto
thehydraulicsystem.
Keepyourhandsandbodyawayfrompinhole
leaksornozzlesthatejecthigh-pressurehydraulic
uid.
Usecardboardorpapertondhydraulicleaks.

4.Removethedrainplugfromthesideofthe
reservoir,andletthehydraulicuidowintoa
drainpan(Figure69).
