Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachine
fromthenormaloperatingposition.
AcceleratorPedal
Theacceleratorpedal(Figure7)givestheoperatortheability
tovarytheengineandgroundspeedofthevehicle,whenthe
transmissionisingear.Pressingthepedalincreasesengine
rpmandgroundspeed.Releasingthepedalwilldecrease
enginerpmandgroundspeedofthemachine.

ClutchPedal
Theclutchpedal(Figure7)mustbefullypressedtodisengage
clutchwhenstartingtheengineorshiftingtransmissiongears.
Releasethepedalsmoothlywhenthetransmissionisingear
topreventunnecessarywearonthetransmissionandother
relatedparts.
Important:Donotridetheclutchpedalduring
operation.Theclutchpedalmustbefullyoutorthe
clutchwillslipcausingheatandwear.Neverholdthe
vehiclestoppedonahillusingtheclutchpedal.Damage
totheclutchmayoccur.
BrakePedal
Thebrakepedal(Figure7)isusedtoapplyservicebrakes
tostoporslowvehicle.
CAUTION
Wornormaladjustedbrakesmayresultinpersonal
injury.Ifthebrakepedaltravelstowithin3.8cm
(1-1/2inches)ofthevehicleoorboard,thebrakes
mustbeadjustedorrepaired.
GearShiftLever
Fullypresstheclutchpedalandmovetheshiftlever(Figure8)
intothedesiredgearselection.Adiagramoftheshiftpattern
isindicatedbelow.

Important:Donotshiftthetransaxletothereverseor
forwardgearunlessthevehicleisstandingstill.Damage
tothetransaxlemayoccur.
CAUTION
Downshiftingfromtoohighaspeedcancause
therearwheelstoskidresultinginlossofvehicle
controlaswellasclutchand/ortransmission
damage.Shiftsmoothlytoavoidgrindinggears.
DifferentialLock
Thedifferentiallockallowsrearaxletobelockedforincreased
traction.Thedifferentiallock(Figure9)maybeengaged
whenthevehicleisinmotion.Movetheleverforwardandto
therighttoengagethelock.
Note:Vehiclemotionplusaslightturnisrequiredtoengage
ordisengagedifferentiallock.
CAUTION
Turningwiththedifferentiallockoncanresult
inlossofvehiclecontrol.Donotoperatewith
differentiallockonwhenmakingsharpturnsorat
highspeeds.Refertousingthedifferentiallock.
