CheckingtheSafety-Interlock

System

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily

Thepurposeofthesafety-interlocksystemistopreventthe

enginefromcrankingorstartingunlesstheclutchpedalis

pressed.

CAUTION

Ifthesafety-interlockswitchesaredisconnectedor

damagedthemachinecouldoperateunexpectedly

causingpersonalinjury.

•Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.

•Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches

dailyandreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore

operatingthemachine.

oncheckingtheattachmentinterlocksystem.

VerifyingtheClutch-InterlockSwitch

1.Sitontheoperator’sseatandengagetheparkingbrake.

2.MovetheshiftlevertotheNEUTRALposition.

Note:Theenginedoesnotstartifthehydraulic-lift

leverislockedintheforwardposition.

3.Withoutpressingtheclutchpedal,rotatethekeyswitch

clockwisetotheSTARTposition.

Note:Iftheenginecranksorstarts,thereisa

malfunctionintheinterlocksystemthatmustbe

repairedbeforeoperatingthemachine.

VerifyingtheHydraulic-LiftLever

InterlockSwitch

1.Sitontheoperator’sseatandengagetheparkingbrake.

2.MovetheshiftlevertotheNEUTRALpositionand

ensurethatthehydraulic-liftleverisinthecenter

position.

3.Pressclutchpedal.

4.Movethehydraulic-liftleverforwardandrotatethekey

switchclockwisetotheSTARTposition.

Note:Ifenginecranksorstarts,thereisamalfunction

intheinterlocksystemthatmustberepairedbefore

operatingthemachine.

EnsuringPassengerSafety

Wheneveryouhaveapassengerridinginthemachine,make

surethatheorsheiswearingtheseatbeltandholdingon

securely.Driveslowerandturnlesssharplybecauseyour

passengerdoesnotknowwhatyouaregoingtodonextand

maynotbepreparedforturning,stopping,accelerating,and

bumps.

Youandyourpassengershouldremainseatedatalltimes,

keepingarmsandlegsinsidethemachine.Theoperator

shouldkeepbothhandsonsteeringwheel,wheneverpossible,

andthepassengershouldusethehandholdsprovided(Figure

27andFigure28).
