4.Applyalightcoatofcleanoiltothenewlterseal
beforescrewingiton.
5.Screwthelteronuntilthegasketcontactsthe
mountingplate,thentightenthelter1/2to2/3of
aturn.Donotovertighten.
6.Addoiltothecrankcase;refertoCheckingthe
EngineOilLevel.
ReplacingtheSparkPlugs
ServiceInterval:Every400hours
Thesparkplugsusuallylastalongtime;however,the
plugsshouldberemovedandcheckedwheneverthe
enginemalfunctionsorevery400hours.Replacethe
sparkplugstoensureproperengineperformanceand
reduceexhaustemissionlevel.
ThecorrectsparkplugtouseisaChampionRC14YC
orNGKBPR4ES.
Therecommendedairgapis0.032inch(0.81mm).
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugssoforeign
mattercannotfallintothecylinderwhenyouremove
thesparkplug.
2.Pullwiresoffofthesparkplugsandremovethe
plugsfromthecylinderhead.
3.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatortoensure
thatthereisnodamage.
Important:Acracked,fouled,dirty,or
otherwisemalfunctioningsparkplugmustbe
replaced.Donotsandblast,scrape,orclean
electrodesbyusingawirebrushbecausegrit
mayeventuallyreleasefromtheplugand
fallintothecylinder.Theresultisusuallya
damagedengine.
