1.Draintheoilfromtheengine.
2.Removetheexistingoillter(Figure33).
3.Applyalightcoatofcleanoiltothegasketof
thenewoillter.
4.Threadthenewlterontothelteradapteruntil
thegasketcontactsthemountingplate,then
tightenthelteranadditional1/2to3/4turn
(Figure33).
Important:Donotovertightentheoillter.
5.Fillthecrankcasewiththespeciedoil(Figure
31).
6.Startandruntheenginetocheckforoilleaks.
7.Shutofftheengineandchecktheengine-oil
level.
Note:Ifnecessary,addthespeciedoilinto
theengineuntiltheoillevelisattheFullmark
onthedipstick.

AirGap:0.762mm(0.03inch)
Important:Acracked,fouled,dirty,or
malfunctioningsparkplugmustbereplaced.Do
notsand-blast,scrape,orcleanelectrodesby
usingawirebrushbecausegritmayeventually
releasefromtheplugandfallintothecylinder.
Theresultisusuallyadamagedengine.
Note:Theplugshouldberemovedandchecked
whenevertheenginemalfunctions.
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugsothat
foreignmattercannotfallintothecylinderwhen
youremovethesparkplug.
2.Pullthewireofftheterminalofthesparkplug.
3.Removetheplugfromthecylinderhead.
4.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatorto
ensurethatthereisnodamage(Figure34).
Note:Donotuseadamagedorwornspark
plug.Replaceitwithanewsparkplugofthe
speciedtype.
