Subject: Engine hesitation, abrupt or “jerky” acceleration.

Hesitation or abrupt/jerky acceleration may occur when accelerating after shifting from

to 2

gear or after coasting the vehicle on idle and resuming acceleration.

Complaints of hesitation off low idle and abrupt acceleration have been expressed.

If this issue exists, Throttle Kit (107-7970) is intended to improve the governor’s ability

to operate smoothly. The Kit includes a modified governor bell crank assembly,

governor spring and instructions to correctly adjust the throttle cable. Vehicle low idle

specification has been amended to be adjusted to 1100 ± 50 RPM on all Workman

models listed in this bulletin. Please update your Operator’s Manual and Service

Manual to capture this engine idle speed specification change.
