Maintenance
WARNING
Failuretoproperlymaintainthemachinecouldresultinprematurefailureofmachinesystems,
causingpossibleharmtoyouorbystanders.
Keepthemachinewellmaintainedandingoodworkingorderasindicatedintheseinstructions.
Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachinefromthenormaloperatingposition.
Important:Donottipthemachineatananglegreaterthan25°.Tippingthemachinebeyond25°leads
tooilleakingintothecombustionchamberand/orfuelleakingoutofthefuel-tankcap.
Important:Refertoyourengineowner’smanualforadditionalmaintenanceprocedures.
MaintenanceSafety
•Beforeyouleavetheoperator’sposition,dothe
following:
–Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
–Movethethrottletothelow-idleposition.
–Disengagethecuttingunit(s).
–Ensurethatthetractionisinneutral.
–Engagetheparkingbrake.
–Shutoffthemachineandremovethekey(if
equipped).
–Waitforallmovementtostop.
•Allowmachinecomponentstocoolbefore
performingmaintenance.
•Ifpossible,donotperformmaintenancewhilethe
machineisrunning.Keepawayfrommovingparts.
•Iftheenginemustberunningtoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keepyourhands,feet,
clothing,andanypartsofthebodyawayfromthe
cuttingunit,attachments,andanymovingparts.
Keepbystandersaway.
•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunit,drive,
mufer,coolingscreen,andtheenginetohelp
preventres.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Keepallpartsingoodworkingcondition.Replace
allworn,damaged,ormissingpartsanddecals.
Keepallhardwaretighttoensurethatthemachine
isinsafeworkingcondition.
•Checkthegrasscatchercomponentsfrequently
andreplacethemwhennecessary.
•Toensuresafe,optimalperformanceofthe
machine,useonlygenuineT ororeplacement
parts.Replacementpartsmadebyother
manufacturerscouldbedangerous,andsuchuse
couldvoidtheproductwarranty.
•Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorifassistanceis
desired,contactanauthorizedTorodistributor.
