ShutdownDelayRelay(Model04590)Theshutdowndelayrelayisenergized
whenthekeyswitchissettotheRUNposition.Whenenergized,theshutdown
delayrelaysuppliespowertothe12Vcontrolcircuits(manualparkingbrake
switch,T1:primarycontrolleroutputs,InfoCenterdisplay,CANbusisolation
module,brakeactuatorrelayswitchterminal).
Theshutdowndelayrelayisalsousedtode-energizethe12Vcontrolcircuits
beforetheSC8:lithium-ionbatterycontroller(BMS)takesthe48VDClithium-ion
batteriesoff-line.
TestingRelayswith4Terminals
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,setthekey
switchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthe12Vsystembattery(model
04580);refertoRemovingandInstallingthe12VSystemBattery(Model
04580)(page5–105),orunplugthe48Vbatterydisconnect(model04590);
referto48VBatteryDisconnect(page5–9).
3.Removetherightsidecover.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtherelaybeingtested.Check
therelayandtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanor
repairasnecessary.Removetherelayfromthemountingpanel.
Note:Priortotakingsmallresistancereadingswithadigitalmultimeter,short
themetertestleadstogether.Themeterwilldisplayasmallresistancevalue
(usually0.5ohmsorless).Thisresistanceisduetotheinternalresistanceof
themeterandtestleads.Subtractthisvaluefromthemeasuredvaluefor
thetestedcomponent.
5.Usingamultimeter(ohmssetting),measurethecoilresistancebetween
terminals85and86.
