CuttingUnitMotors

Thethreecuttingunitmotorsareidentical48VDC,brushless,permanentmagnet

motors.Eachmotorhasitsownon-boardcontroller(T1:centercuttingunit,T2:

leftcuttingunit,T3:rightcuttingunit).Ifaproblemexistswithanycuttingunit

motor,afaultmayhaveoccurredthatwouldbeindicatedbyafaultcodeonthe

InfoCenterDisplay.Beforeconsideringthatcuttingunitmotorserviceworkis

necessary,checkforanyexistingfaultcodesthatindicateproblemswithacutting

unitmotor;refertoMachineFaults(page3–7).Ifacuttingunitmotorisfaulty,

therewilllikelybenumerousfaultcodesthatarelistedbytheInfoCenterdisplay.

Becauseallthecuttingunitmotorsusedonthemachinearethesame,the

motorscanbeexchangedtohelptroubleshootaproblem.Iftheproblemfollows

themotortothenewcuttingunit,themotorislikelytheissue.Iftheproblem

remainswiththecuttingunit,theissueislikelyduetothecuttingunitorelectrical

componentsorwiringspecictothatcuttingunit.

Tooperate,thecuttingunitmotorsrequire48Vlogicpower(suppliedbythelogic

relay)andaconnectiontothe48Vpowerbus(suppliedbythemaincontactor

whenenergized).

Thecuttingunitmotorcontrollerisnotserviceable,andisbesttestedbyusing

theinformationprovidedontheInfoCenterdisplayasdescribedinthefollowing

testprocedure.RefertoAppendixA(pageA–1)forcircuitwiringinformation.

Note:Ifacuttingunitmotorisreplacedforanyreason,themachinesoftware

mustbeupdated;contactanAuthorizedT oroDistributorforassistance.

TestingtheCuttingUnitMotors

TheInfoCenterDisplaycanbeusedtomonitorthespeedandcurrentdrawfor

thecuttingunitmotorsduringmachineoperation;refertoInfoCenter(page5–10).

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunitsandsetthekey

switchtotheOFFposition.

2.SetthefunctioncontrolswitchtotheNEUTRALposition.

3.SitintheoperatorseatandsetthekeyswitchontheONposition.

4.AccesstheInfoCenterDiagnostics>PTO>Inputsscreen.
