1.SC8:Lithium–ionbatterycontroller
TheeTriFlex3370usesaLithium–ionbatterycontrollerorBatteryManagement
System(BMS)tomanagethelithium-ionbatteries.Eachoftheeightlithium-ion
batteriescommunicateswiththeBMSthroughasub-netviathebatteryinterface
harness.Thebatteryinterfaceharnessincludesa4-pinconnectorateachofthe
batteriesanda9-pinconnectorattheBMS.TheBMSusesthesub–nettoverify
thepresenceandconditionofeachofthebatteriesbeforeallowingbatterypower
tothemachine.TheBMSisalsoconnectedtotheCANbuswhichallowsitto
forwardbatteryinformationtotherestofthemachine.TheBMSislocatedunder
thehoodattachedtothebackofthecentermountedbatteries.
TheLithium–ionbatterycontroller:
•Monitorsthebatteriesviaasub-net(batteryinterfaceharness).
Note:Allofthebatteryinterfaceharnessconnectionsmustbecorrosion
freeandsecurelyconnectedbeforemachineoperationcanoccur.
•Protectsthebatteriesfromoperating(dischargingandcharging)outsidetheir
safeoperatingvoltage,amperage,andtemperatureranges.
•Operatesaninternalcontactortoconnectanddisconnectthebatteriesfrom
themachineandthebatterycharger.
