Theengineoilpressureswitchislocatedontherightsideoftheenginenearthe
oillter.Theoilpressureswitchisanormallyopenswitchthatclosesunder
engineoilpressure.
TheconditionoftheengineoilpressureswitchismonitoredbytheT1:Primary
controller.Iftheoilpressureopens(lowoilpressure)formorethan10seconds
whiletheengineisrunning,thecontrollerwillde-energizetheenginecontrol
circuittostoptheengine.
TestingtheEngineOilPressureSwitch
RefertotheKawasakiFS481VServiceManualforinformationregardingengine
lubricationsystemtesting.
TheengineoilpressureswitchanditscircuitwiringcanbetestedasaT1:
PrimaryinputusingtheInfoCenterDisplay;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplay
forTroubleshooting(page3–42).Iftestingdeterminesthattheswitchandcircuit
wiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththefollowingtestprocedure:
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,setthekey
switchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Locatetheengineoilpressureswitchontheengineanddisconnectthe
wireharnessconnectorfromtheswitch.Checktheswitchandtheharness
connectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepairasnecessary.
3.Connectamultimeter(ohmssetting)tocheckthecontinuityoftheswitch:
A.Withtheengineoff,thereshouldbenocontinuitybetweentheswitch
terminalandthemetalswitchbody.
B.Withtheenginerunning,thereshouldbecontinuitybetweentheswitch
terminalandthemetalswitchbody.
