ReplacingtheRollerBrushElement
RefertoFigure174forthisprocedure.
1.Removethecuttingunitfromthemachineandplaceitonalevelworksurface.
2.RemovetheRHbearingbracketassembly.
3.Removethebrushelementfromtheshaft.
4.Slidethenewbrushelementontotheshaftwhilerotatingthebrush.
5.InstalltheJ-boltsandlocknutsmakingsurethethreadedportionofthe
J-boltsareinstalledontheoutsideofthebrushelement.Tightenthelock
nutsfrom2.3to2.8N∙m(20to25in-lb).
6.ApplyathincoatingofgreasetotheO-ringsonthebrushshaftandinstallthe
RHbearingbracket.
IMPORTANT
Ifbrushtorollercontactisincorrect,brushoperationwillbe
adverselyaffected.
7.Checkthattherollerbrushisparalleltotherearrollerwithin0.25mm(0.010
inch)clearancetolightcontact.Adjustthebearingbracketsasnecessary.
DriveandSupportComponents
RefertoFigure174forthisprocedure.
1.Disassembletherollerbrushcomponentsasnecessary.Retrieveand
discardtheadapterhousingO-ring(machineswithoutauniversalgroomer).
2.Cleanandinspectallcomponentsforwearordamageandreplaceas
necessary.
3.Ifthedriveshaftanddriveadapter(items40or41)requirereplacement
(machineswithoutauniversalgroomer):
A.Tipupthecuttingunittoaccessthebottomofthereeltoremovethe
driveshaftassembly.
