Adjustments
AdjustingtheBrakes
TheeTriFlexmachinesuseasinglemechanicalbrakeassemblythatcanbeused
asaservicebrake,amanualparkingbrake,andanautomaticparkingbrake.The
servicebrakeandmanualparkingbrakearecontrolledbyacableconnectedto
pedalsattheoperator’sleftfoot,whiletheautomaticparkingbrakeiscontrolled
byan12VDCelectricbrakeactuator.Thebrakesystemengages2brake
calipers(locatedbetweeneachfronttractionmotorandfronttractiongearbox).
CheckingtheBrakeAdjustment
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition
anddisengagethemanualparkingbrake.
2.Checkeachbrakerodassemblyforagapbetweenthewasherandthebrake
rod.Agapindicatestheelectricbrakeactuatorhasfullyengagedeach
brake.Thegapshouldbeapproximately3.3mm(0.13inch).Ifnogap
existsatoneorbothbrakerodassemblies,adjustthebrakelinkage;referto
AdjustingtheBrakeLinkage(page6–4).

3.Haveanassistantsitintheoperator’sseatandsetthekeyswitchtothe
ONposition.
4.Ensurethebrakelever(item3inFigure114)ateachwheelmotorcanbe
movedbyhand.Asmallamountofbrakelevermovementindicatesthe
actuatorhasfullyreleasedeachbrake.Ifnomovementexistsatoneorboth
brakelevers,adjustthebrakelinkage;refertoAdjustingtheBrakeLinkage
(page6–4).
5.SetthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.
6.Observeeachbrakerodassemblywhileengagingthemanualparkingbrake.
Thegapbetweenthewasherandthebrakerodshouldincreasewhenthe
manualparkingbrakeisapplied.Theincreasedgapindicatesthemanual
parkingbrakeiscreatingslightlymovebrakeholdingforcethantheautomatic
