4.LubricatenewO-ringswithdielectriclubricantandinstalltheO-ringsintothe
groovesinthemotorcover.Placethewavewasherinthecoverbearingbore
andttherotorassemblyintothecover.
5.SecurethebaseplateofthemotorrotortooltothehousingwithfourM6–
1.0X50capscrews.
6.Installtherotortoolshaftintothebaseplateandturnitinsotheendofthe
shaftpreventstherotorbodyfromenteringthehousingassembly.
IMPORTANT
Therotormagnetsareverypowerfulandcancausetherotortoshift
positionveryrapidlyduringinstallation.Becautiousduringrotor
installationtopreventcomponentdamageorpersonalinjury.
7.Whilesupportingtherotorandcoverassembly,slowlyturntherotortool
shafttoallowtherotortobedrawnintothehousingassembly.Oncethe
rotorandcoverassemblyisfullyseatedinthehousing,removetherotor
toolbaseplate.
8.Securethecovertothehousingwiththesixcapscrewsandtightenthe
screwsfrom8to9N·m(70to80in−lb).
9.Makesurethatrotorrotateswithoutbindingbeforeinstallingthemotor
assembly.
InstallingtheRearTractionMotor
RefertoFigure107forthisprocedure.
1.Ifpreviouslyremoved,installthesquarekeyandspurgearonthemotorshaft.
A.Applymediumstrengththreadlockingcompound(Loctite243or
equivalent)tothesocketheadcapscrew(item9)andtightenthescrew
to15N·m(11ft-lb).
B.Applymediumstrengththreadlockingcompound(Loctite243or
equivalent)tothesetscrew(item7)andtightenthesetscrew.
2.UseanewO-ringandnewgasketandtthe3WDtractionmotortothe
gearboxcover.
3.Installthefastenerssecuringthemotortothecoverandtightenthefasteners
from11to12N·m(8to9ft-lb).
4.Assembleandinstallthe3WDgearboxassembly;refertoRearWheelGear
Box(Optional3WD)(page6–19).
5.Ifthe3WDtractionmotorwasreplaced,updatethemachinesoftware;
contactanAuthorizedT oroDistributorforassistance.
