Donotstorethemachineinalocationwherethetemperaturewilldropbelow
-25°C(-13°F)orriseabove45°C(113°F).Becausestoragetemperaturewill
affectthelifeofthebatterypack,avoidstoringthemachineintemperatures
outsideofthisrange.Storageforlongperiodsoftimeathightemperatureswill
reducethelifeofthebatterypack,especiallyifthepackisstoredwithahigh
charge.Wherepossible,storethemachineinacool(notbelowfreezing)location.
•Storageof1to6months:Chargeordischargethebatteryto50-100%.50%
isidealdueto100%willdegradethebatteryfaster.
•Storageof6to12months:Chargethebatteryto100%.
•Storageofmorethan12months:Checkthestateofcharge.Ifitisunder
50%chargingisrequired.
Aftercharging,disconnectthechargerfrombatteriestopreventminimaldrainon
thebatteries.Ifchargerisleftconnectedtothebatteriesforanextendedperiod,
itwillshutoffafterthebatteriesarefullychargedandwillNOTturnbackon
unlessthechargerisdisconnectedandreconnected.
ShippingandTransportingtheLithium-IonBatteries(Model04590)
TheUSDepartmentofTransportationandinternationaltransportationauthorities
requirethatlithium-ionbatteriesbeshippedusingspecialpackagingandonlybe
handledbycarrierscertiedtohaulthem.Usetheoriginalpackagingwhenever
possiblewhenshippinglithium-ionbatteriesintheUSA.Iftheoriginalpackaging
isdamagedornotavailable,useaBatteryShippingKit;refertoLithium-Ion
BatteryShippingKit(page2–15).Contacttheappropriategovernmentbodyin
yourcountryfordetailedregulationsonshippingthelithium-ionbatteries.
IntheUSA,youareallowedtotransportthebatterywhenitisinstalledonthe
machineasbatterypoweredequipment,withsomeregulatoryrequirements.
ContactUSDepartmentofTransportationortheappropriategovernmentbody
inyourcountryfordetailedregulationsontransportingamachinewithlithium
batteriesinstalled.
