12.Remove tension on generator belt and remove belt
from the generator pulley attached to engine (see Gen-
erator Drive Belt (Greensmaster 3420) in the Service
and Repairs section of Chapter 6 − Electrical System).
CAUTION
When removing engine assembly, make sure lift
or hoist can safely support 190 lbs (86 kg).
13.Attach a suitable lift or hoist to engine. Support en-
gine with lift or hoist to prevent engine from shifting or
moving.
14.Remove fasteners that secure engine to machine:
A. Remove cap screw, spacer, snubbing washer
and flange nut that secure engine support to engine
mount (Fig. 15).
B. Remove five (5) flange head screws that secure
bell housing to flywheel plate (Fig. 16).
C. Remove two (2) cap screws, washers and lock
nuts that secure rear engine plate and bell housing to
rear engine mount (Fig. 16).
IMPORTANT: Make sure to not damage the engine,
fuel hoses, hydraulic lines, electrical harness or
other parts while removing the engine.
15.Slowly move the engine assembly away from the bell
housing to allow the pump coupling to slide out of the en-
gine coupling flange (Fig. 17). Once the engine has
cleared the pump coupling, carefully remove the engine
from the machine.
16.If required, remove engine support (item 23) from en-
gine.
17.If required, remove generator drive pulley and cou-
pling flange from engine flywheel (Fig. 18).
Engine Installation (Fig. 11)
1. Make sure that all removed engine components are
correctly installed to the engine.
2. If engine support (item 23) was removed from en-
gine, secure support to engine with removed fasteners.
3. If generator drive pulley and coupling flange were re-
moved from engine, secure pulley and flange to flywheel
with removed fasteners (Fig. 18).
4. Make sure that hydraulic pump, bell housing and
generator assembly is well supported to prevent it from
moving during engine Installation.
