Procedure
Useonlyelectrolyte(1.265specicgravity)tollthe
batteryinitially.
1.Removethefastenersandbatteryclampand
liftoutthebattery.
Important:Donotaddelectrolytewhilethe
batteryisinthemachine.Youcouldspillit,
causingcorrosion.
2.Cleanthetopofthebatteryandremovethevent
caps(Figure5).

gravityis1.250orhigherandthetemperatureis
atleast16°C(60°F)withallcellsgassingfreely.
6.Whenthebatteryischarged,disconnectthe
chargerfromtheelectricaloutletandbattery
posts.
Note:Afterthebatteryhasbeenactivated,
addonlydistilledwatertoreplacenormalloss,
althoughmaintenance-freebatteriesshouldnot
requirewaterundernormaloperatingconditions.
