Important:Neverstoponagreenwith
thecuttingunitreelsoperatingasdamage
totheturfmayresult.Stoppingonawet
greenwiththemachinemayleavemarksor
indentationsfromthewheels.
7.Iftheleakdetectoralarmsoundswhilecutting
onagreen,immediatelyraisethecuttingunits,
drivedirectlyoffthegreenandstopthemachine
inanareaawayfromthegreen.Determinethe
causeofthealarmandcorrecttheproblem.
8.Finishcuttingthegreenbymowingtheouter
periphery.Besuretochangethedirectionof
cuttingfromthepreviousmowing.
Note:Alwayskeepweatherandturfconditions
inmindandbesuretochangethedirectionof
mowingfromthepreviouscutting.
9.Whennishedmowingtheouterperiphery,tap
theraise/lowermowleverrearwardtostopthe
reels,thendriveoffthegreen.Whenallofthe
cuttingunitsareoffofthegreen,raisethem.
Note:Thiswillminimizegrassclumpslefton
thegreen.
10.Replacetheag.
11.Emptythegrassbasketsofallclippingsbefore
transportingtothenextgreen.
Note:Heavywetclippingsplaceanundue
strainonthebasketsandwilladdunnecessary
weighttothemachine,therebyincreasingthe
loadontheengine,hydraulicsystem,brakes,
etc.
InspectingandCleaning
afterMowing
Atthecompletionofthemowingoperation,thoroughly
washthemachinewithagardenhosewithout
anozzlesoexcessivewaterpressurewillnot
causecontaminationanddamagetosealsand
bearings.Neverwashawarmengineorelectrical
connectionswithwater.
Aftercleaning,inspectthemachineforpossible
hydraulicuidleaks,damageorweartohydraulic
andmechanicalcomponents,andthecuttingunits
forsharpness.Also,lubricatebrakeshaftassembly
withSAE30oilorspraylubricanttodetercorrosion
andhelpkeepthemachineperformingsatisfactorily
duringthenextmowingoperation.
DrivingtheMachinewithout
Mowing
Ensurethatthecuttingunitsarefullyraised.Move
thefunctional-controllevertotheTRANSPORTposition.
Usethebrakestoslowthemachinewhilegoingdown
steephillstoavoidlossofcontrol.Alwaysapproach
roughareasatareducedspeedandcrosssevere
undulationscarefully.Familiarizeyourselfwiththe
widthofthemachine.Donotattempttopassbetween
objectsthatareclosetogethersothatcostlydamage
anddowntimecanbeprevented.
TransportingtheMachine
Useaheavy-dutytrailerortrucktotransportthe
machine.Ensurethatthetrailerortruckhasall
necessarybrakes,lighting,andmarkingasrequired
bylaw.Readallthesafetyinstructions.Knowing
thisinformationcouldhelpyou,yourfamily,pets,or
bystandersavoidinjury.
WARNING
Drivingonthestreetorroadwaywithoutturn
signals,lights,reectivemarkings,oraslow
movingvehicleemblemisdangerousandcan
leadtoaccidentscausingpersonalinjury.
Donotdrivethemachineonapublicstreet
orroadway.
Useextremecautionwhenloadingthemachineonto
atraileroratruck.Onefull-widthrampthatiswide
enoughtoextendbeyondthereartiresisrequired
(Figure37).
Therampshouldbelongenoughsothattheangles
donotexceed15degrees(Figure37).Asteeper
anglemaycausemowercomponentstogetcaughtas
theunitmovesfromtheramptothetrailerortruck.
Steeperanglesmayalsocausethemachinetotip
backward.Ifloadingonornearaslope,positionthe
trailerortrucksothatitisonthedownsideofthe
slopeandtherampextendsuptheslope.Thiswill
minimizetherampangle.Thetrailerortruckshould
beaslevelaspossible.
Important:Donotattempttoturnthemachine
whileontheramp;youmaylosecontrolanddrive
offtheside.
Avoidsuddenaccelerationwhendrivinguparamp
andsuddendecelerationwhenbackingdowna
ramp.Bothmaneuverscancausethemachinetotip
backward.
