CheckingtheTirePressure
Thetiresareover-inatedatthefactoryforshipping
purposes.Reducethepressuretotheproperlevelsbefore
startingtheunit.
Varythetirepressureforthefrontwheels,depending
uponyourturfconditions,fromaminimumof12psitoa
maximumof16psi(83to110kPa).
Varythetirepressurefortherearwheelfromaminimumof
12psitoamaximumof16psi(83to110kPa).
CheckingtheTorqueofthe
WheelNuts

Failuretomaintainpropertorqueofthewheelnuts

Torquethewheelnutsto70-90ft-lb(94.4-122N-m)
after1-4hoursofoperationandagainafter10hours
ofoperation.Torqueevery200hoursthereafter.
Break-inPeriod
RefertotheEngineManualsuppliedwiththemachineforoil
changeandmaintenanceproceduresrecommendedduring
thebreak-inperiod.
Only8hoursofmowingoperationisrequiredforthebreak-in
period.
Sincethersthoursofoperationarecriticaltofuture
dependabilityofthemachine,monitoritsfunctionsand
performancecloselysothatminordifculties,whichcould
leadtomajorproblems,arenotedandcanbecorrected.
Inspectthemachinefrequentlyduringbreak-inforsignsof
oilleakage,loosefasteners,oranyothermalfunction.
Toensureoptimumperformanceofthebrakesystem,burnish
(break-in)thebrakesbeforeusingthemachine.Toburnish
thebrakes,rmlyapplythebrakesanddrivethemachineat
mowingspeeduntilthebrakesarehot,asindicatedbytheir
smell.Anadjustmenttothebrakesmayberequiredafter
break-in;refertoAdjustingtheBrakes.
StartingtheEngine
Note:Inspecttheareabeneaththemowerstobecertain
theyareclearofdebris.
1.Sitontheseat,locktheparkingbrake,disengagethe
raise/lowermowcontrolandmovethefunctional
controllevertoNeutral.
