theservicebrake.
Youmustdisengagethebrakebeforeyouengagethe
tractiondrive.Ifyouoperatethemachinewiththe
brakeengaged,themachinemoves,butwithahigh
resistanceandincreasedpowerconsumption.

servicebrake.Rotatetheparking-brakelatchtoward
thebrakehandletoholdtheservicebrakeinplace.
Pullthebrakelevertorelease.

whilethelatchisengaged.
On/OffSwitch
TheOn/Offswitch(Figure15)islocatedonthetopof
thecontrolpanel.MovetheswitchtotheONposition
tostarttheengineandtheOFFpositiontoshutoff
theengine.
Operator-PresenceControl(OPC)
Youmustengagetheoperator-presencecontrol
(Figure15)beforeyouengagethetractionlever.Ifyou
releasetheOPCduringoperation,thetractionlever
returnstoneutralandtheenginecontinuestorun.
ChokeLever
Thechokelever(Figure19)islocatedontheleftfront
oftheengine.Theleverhas2positions:RUNand
CHOKE.MovethelevertotheCHOKEpositionwhen
startingacoldengine.Aftertheenginestarts,move
thelevertotheRUNposition.
