1.Whenpossible,preformeachstepinPreparing
forMaintenance(page41).
2.Unlatchandopenthehood,andiftheengine
ishotwaitforittocool.
3.LoosenthetubenutforthefuellinetotheNo.

positionandwatchthefuelowaroundthe
connector.TurnthekeytotheOFFposition
whenthereisacontinuousow.
Important:Topreventoverheatingofthe
startermotor,donotengagethestarterfor
longerthan15seconds.After10secondsof
continuouscranking,wait60secondsbefore
engagingthestartermotoragain.
6.Tightenthetubenutsecurely.
7.Cleananyfuelfromtheengine.
8.Repeatsteps3through7fortheremaining
fuel-injectornozzles.
9.Starttheengine,checkforleaks,andshutoff
theengine.

10.Closeandlatchthehood.

Disconnectthebatterybeforerepairingthe
machine.Disconnectthenegativeterminalrst
andthepositivelast.Connectthepositiveterminal
rstandthenegativelast.
Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated
area,awayfromsparksandames.Unplugthe
chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingthe
battery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduseinsulated
tools.
ServicingtheBattery
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Checkthe
electrolytelevel(ifmachineisin
storage,checkevery30days).
DANGER
Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid
whichisfatalifconsumedandcausessevere
burns.
Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoidcontact
withyourskin,eyes,orclothing.Weareye
protectionandrubbergloves.
Fillthebatterywherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.
WARNING
Incorrectbatterycableroutingcoulddamage
thetractorandcables,causingsparks.
Sparkscancausethebatterygassesto
explode,resultinginpersonalinjury.
Alwaysdisconnectthenegative(black)
batterycablebeforedisconnectingthe
positive(red)cable.
Alwaysconnectthepositive(red)battery
cablebeforeconnectingthenegative
(black)cable.
