Replace Hydraulic Oil Filter
The hydraulic system filter head is equipped with a ser-
vice indicator. With the engine running, view the indica-
tor, it should be in the GREEN zone. When the indicator
is in the RED zone, the filter element should be changed.
IMPORTANT: Use only the Toro replacement filter
recommended for this product (see parts catalog or
service reference decal on unit). Use of any other fil-
ter may void the warranty on some components.
1. Position machine on a level surface, lower the cut-
ting units, stop the engine, engage the parking brakes
and remove key from ignition switch.
2. Clean area around filter mounting area. Place drain
pan under filter and remove filter (Fig. 27).
3. Lubricate new filter gasket and fill the filter with hy-
draulic fluid.

4. Assure filter mounting area is clean. Screw filter on
until gasket contacts mounting plate. Then tighten filter
one-half turn.
5. Start engine and let run for about two minutes to
purge air from the system. Stop the engine and check for
leaks.
